Arm is currently: "Arm: The spell grants each target a +2 Armor Bonus for 1 hour/caster level. Every 4 additional instances of Arm increases the amount of Armor Bonus granted in this way by 1. The spell gains the [Force] descriptor."
Proposed change: "Arm: The spell grants each target a +2 Armor Bonus or Shield Bonus for 1 hour/caster level. Every 4 additional instances of Arm increases the amount of Armor Bonus granted in this way by 1. If an Arm effect is already active on the target, additional castings improve the Arm effect already active. The spell gains the [Force] descriptor."
Possibly also reduce the additional castings required - who are we kidding: It's a pretty lousy word as things stand. The difference between spending 2 words and spending 6 words is probably not a +1 to AC, even if it does last a few hours.
What do you think? The primary change is mostly for the Word Warrior, so even if he runs around in medium armor all the time, he can get some use out of Arm. -- Aelaris 19:04, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
New Words? Edit
Effect word, "Rep": Same as unnamed Alchemist effect 'word', "Item Repair Effect Concept: This effect heals objects and constructs for 1d8 hit points. This effect concept adds 1 to the "DC" of the transmutation circle." It's not horribly out of place as an effect word.
Modifier word, "Fren": Applied to AoE shape words (other than burs), makes the AoE not affect targets of choice (friendly casting, yay!)
That's all for now. -- Aelaris 19:19, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
