I was considering using this for a character in a new campaign, but I think the class is a bit too long. There are some abilities that are basically just filler (I mean, does anyone really care about Improved Evasion and Dragonheart both of which you get at the same level?), and Giantkiller can probably go. I'm thinking this PrC can be done in five levels. Surgo 19:25, September 30, 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, it could be cut down to five though you'd miss out on a decent chassis (for what that's worth). The different flavors of Dragonbreath are indeed filler (though I just thought of making each additional Dragonbreath add some reach and some punch to the damage), and I never got around to tinkering with Dragonheart. So, huh. Level 1 would remain intact. The rest of the abilities would be folded down into 5 levels, in the order they appear in. Drop Giantkiller and Improved Evasion and Dragonheart (if you want; it's better than the other two) if you want to make everything fit neatly. That's a Dragonbreath every level starting at 2, and I think it should fit Double Jump into 5 levels. I am concerned with it packing too much awesome by level 10, especially with all the abilities together. --Genowhirl 06:34, October 3, 2009 (UTC)
- Dammit, it popped into my head after about three minutes. So, Dragonbreath. Each level you gain an energy type (that is, 5, 7, and 9), its reach increases 15 feet, so it's a 60-foot cone at level 9. At level 5, the damage becomes (Character level + Con Mod) in d8's. Level 7...The die bumps up to 1d10, maybe? And level 9...Not sure. Maybe it could pull a line from the Fire Mage/Puppeteer and let it ignore ER of a certain value (along with Hardness. I like the idea of a Dragoon blowing fire or screaming a hole through a wall) along with a partial bypass of energy resistance; if the ER-null bypasses 25, you also beat immunity. I'm not entirely sure about the levels for those abilities though, they could be switched around in basically any order. It's late and I'm not sure I'm thinking straight, but I do believe that's a start. --Genowhirl 06:55, October 3, 2009 (UTC)
