Sword and BoardEdit
A sword and board is a warrior who uses his strength to make very powerful melee attacks without losing accuracy while doing so.
Making a Sword and BoardEdit
A sword and board excels at melee combat and drawing the attentions of the enemy by being a threat so as to keep other party members alive.
Abilities: Strength drives the main ability of this class. Dexterity is not generally as useful because of the heavy armor that a sword and board is inclined to use. Constitution grants extra hit points. Mental ability scores have standard importance as with almost all characters but nothing beyond that for a sword and board.
Races: Any race may become a sword and board but those who are strong and prefer heavier armor (such as orcs and half-orcs) are particularly likely to become a sword and board.
Starting Gold: 5d6×10 gp (175 gp).
Starting Age: Moderate.
All of the following are class features of the sword and board.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: The sword and board is proficient in the use of all simple and martial weapons and all armor and shields.
Smite (Ex): Whenever a sword and board makes a melee attack with a sword of some kind (generally this means it has the word "sword" in it's name but the DM may allow some other weapons to count as swords) in one hand and a shield in the other he may choose to add his Strength bonus (if any) to his attack roll and deals 1 extra point of damage per class level with his sword.
A multiclassed sword and board may only use this ability once per day per class level.
Epic Sword and BoardEdit
2 + Int modifier skill points per level.
Smite: Smite continues to add class level to damage as mentioned above.
Bonus Feats: The epic sword and board gains great smiting as a bonus feat every 3 levels after 20th even if he does not meet the prerequisites.
