In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the slicer beetle is a type of giant insect.

Publication history[]

The slicer beetle first appeared under the "beetle" heading in the original first edition Monster Manual II (1983).[1]

The slicer beetle appeared in second edition for the Greyhawk setting under the "beetle" heading in the Monstrous Compendium Greyhawk Appendix (1990),[2] and was reprinted in Monstrous Compendium Annual Volume Three (1996).[3]

Description[]

A slicer beetle is a monstrous insect with razor-sharp mandibles capable of severing the limbs of opponents.

Other publishers[]

The slicer beetle appeared in the Tome of Horrors (2002) from Necromancer Games.[4]
