Useful for roguish casters, Mass Backstab allows you to dig your blade into more than one target at a time. You must be qualifying for any precision damage you possess, such as flanking or attacking a target denied his Dex bonus in the case of a rogue's sneak attack. Upon casting, you make a single attack with your weapon, dealing extra sneak attack as normal. As you do, copies of your weapon appear over the backs of all enemy targets in the area (up to 1 target per caster level) and strike with the same amount of damage and sneak attack as if you were striking them in the same position. There is no saving throw for the effect, but it must hit their AC as normal, with the same conditions as your first target (thus gaining a bonus for flanking, denying Dex, and other bonuses).
This does not allow you to sneak attack targets that would be otherwise immune (such as a heavy fortification armored fighter, or an undead). Damage is the same type of damage as your initial attack, including any bonuses from weapon enhancements, and damage reduction applies normally. If your initial attack misses, the spell is wasted.
