Growlithes are above all loyal. They look like large orange dogs with distinctive tiger-like stripe patterns. Every Growlithe's pattern is different, and becomes more complex as the Growlithe becomes older. Growlithes are often employed by police because of their trustworthiness and excellent tracking abilities.
Growlithes are well known for their relentless protectiveness and for their ability to control fire.
Flame Wheel (Su): A Growlithe can send out a wave of fire in all directions. The burst of flame is 20 feet tall, and extends to a radius of five feet per two HD. All creatures and objects within the flame wheel suffer 2d6 + 1 per HD of fire damage (no save). Targets within 10 feet of the flame wheel suffer 2d4 of fire damage, while targets within 20 feet (but outside of 10 feet) suffer only 1d4 of fire damage. A Growlithe cannot use flame wheel for 1d4 rounds after using it.
Trip (Ex): Whenever a Growlithe inflicts damage with its bite attack, it may immediately make a trip attempt against the same target without making a touch attack. If the attempt fails, the opponent cannot react to trip the Growlithe.
Skills: A Growlithe receives a +2 racial bonus on Listen, Move Silently, and Spot checks. It also receives a +8 racial bonus on Survival checks when tracking by scent.
