Grabby Homunculus

Template:Creature Table

What looks like a white squid with outlined black eyes and comically short tendrils is floating around the room. In spite of its small size it picks up a sword and ferries it across the room.

Grabby Homunculi are creatures created by the spell Ell's Handy Homunculus. They are used as an extra hand, holding things for their master until needed. Grabbies are very calm, but an excited grabby may go on a grabbing spree. Grabby homunculi can extend the stubby length of their tendrils with fingers of force, to pick things up.

While generally constructs are neutral, a homunculi picks up the alignment of its creator on casting.

Combat

Handy homunculi make poor weapons. They can slam, but generally choose to run. They do much better supporting another by holding their weapon. It never occurs to the grabby to use the weapon it holds, but given it only has one "hand" to speak of and the weapon is not made for it, it probably would not be very good at it.

Magic Grip (Su)

The grip of a grabby homunculi is identical to a Mage Hand spell, with their body being the "mage hand" in question.

Construction

The body is made of clay and tallow, with the core crystal often embedded in the bottom under the tentacles. A drop of the caster's blood is mixed in with the clay and tallow, which all fuses together into a perfect blend on casting Ell's Handy Homunculus. The entire cost of supplies equals 500 gp.

Assembling the body requires a DC 15 Craft (pottery) or Craft (cooking) check.

CL 1st; Ell's Handy Homunculus, Mage Hand; Never sold; Cost 500 gp + 25 XP.
