The forest is tired of relying on other creatures to protect it. The Mother Forest calls on Florans for that reason.

Racial Traits
Average Height: 5'8" to 6'8"
Average Weight: 200lbs to 300lbs
Ability Scores: +2 Wisdom, +2 Intelligence
Size: Medium
Speed: 6 Squares squares
Vision: Low Light Vision
Languages: Common, (the nature one)
Skill Bonuses: +2 Nature, +2 Heal
Living Construct: As a living construct, you have the following traits:
  • You gain a +2 bonus to saving throws against ongoing damage.
  • You don’t need to eat, or breathe, but this doesn’t render you immune to any effect.
  • You need only 4 hours to benefit from an extended rest.
  • When you roll a death save, you can take the better of your die roll or 10 as the result. You still die at your negative hit point total.
Part of the Forest: Florans are made by the forest and therefore, part of it. Florans do no treat forests, jungles, or any dense tree environment at difficult terrain.
Living Flora: You gain the Plant keyword. You gain a +1 to save against ongoing damage when exposed to sunlight.
Water Dependency: Florans are plants and plants need water. A Floran must drink water as other races need to eat.
Natural Mending Floran Racial Power
You tap into Nature's energies, allowing quick natural healing to take place.
Action Type::Standard Ranged 3
Prerequisite: Target must be Bloodied.
Target: Self or Ally in range.
Effect: Target may take a Healing Surge with a +2 bonus to hitpoints healed. The target may aslo make a save against any ongoing damage if applicable.
The healing bonus increased to +4 at level 11 and to +6 at level 21.


Play an Floran if you want...

  • to be a sentient plant
  • protect nature fiercly
  • be adapted to the forest
  • To be a member of a race that favors the Druid and Shaman classes.

Physical Qualities

The florans are a culmination of grasses, plants, trees and any other plant life from the forest of origin. The are givin sentience by the collective energies of all the plants in the forest coming together to form its own gaurdian.

Their appearance changes with the seasons. Branches become bare in the fall, their flowers will bloom in spring and their grasses will become brown and dry during the summer.

Playing a Floran

Florans are staunch defenders of plant life especially that of their home forest, or Mother Forest. They seem to mourn fallen trees and seem uncomfortable in man-made dwellings made with wood. Venturing away from home is rare, and is done only when their mother forest thinks that an outside threat may be on the way.

Socially, Florans are a bit naive, making interactions with other races intriging and, sometimes, a bit confusing. The Mother Forest provides all for a Floran and they may not understand why the other races cannot survive the same way. They do not shun other ways of life, but aren't afraid boast(although unwhittingly) about how good Mother Forest is.

Floran Characteristics: Florans are Genderless, but can appear and sound both like men and women.

Sample Names: Florans are not given a name by the Mother Forest, but refer to themselves as "One" or something of that nature. Names are given by the people that they interact with and Florans are usually happy to accept them.
