Description

A Chained Sword is basically a longsword attached to a chain. People wielding a Chained Sword can hold the end of the chain and swing it, allowing them the ability to strike opponents farther than usual. It counts as a masterwork weapon and grants its wielder a +1 bonus on attack rolls. A Masterwork weapon's bonus on attack rolls does not stack with an enhancement bonus on attack rolls.

People not proficient with Chained Swords can use it as a regular masterwork Longsword with no penalty, provided they are proficient in using a Longsword.

A Chained Sword has reach, so you can strike opponents 10 feet away with it. However, when using it as a reach weapon, it becomes Two-Handed without adding one and a half your strength bonus. In addition, unlike most other weapons with reach, it can be used against an adjacent foe.
