Business Empire [Leadership, Skill]

You receive (or start) a functioning guild/organization (at no cost to you) that produces goods (magical or mundane) for you and generates profit as a business (see DMG II p. 180 Running a business). Upon taking this feat you must choose the type of business and its location. Can be taken by Fighter, Monk, merchant, or expert as a bonus feat. {{#set:Summary=You receive (or start) a functioning guild/organization (at no cost to you) that produces goods (magical or mundane) for you and generates profit as a business (see DMG II p. 180 Running a business). Upon taking this feat you must choose the type of business and its location. Can be taken by Fighter, Monk, merchant, or expert as a bonus feat. }}

Benefits: This is a skill feat that scales with your ranks in Appraise{{#set:Skill=Appraise}}.

  • 0 ranks: You can muster a group of followers as per the leadership feat (which can be taken in addition to this feat but follows normal leadership rules). Your economic leadership score equals your level + ranks in Appraise + your Intelligence modifier. These followers all have profession and craft skills (or necessary related skills).
  • 4 ranks: You command cohorts as per the leadership feat (use your economic leadership score to determine level). These cohorts all have profession and craft skills (or necessary related skills).
  • 9 ranks: You get your own Stronghold with a base value of 9500k platinum pieces. It gains an Allowance as per the landlord feat but doesn't receive the matching funds (unless you also have the landlord feat). If building the stronghold (as opposed to acquiring one), treat build time as 1/100th of normal to account for your existing trade contacts, ability to lead workers, and general management ability- This decrease in build time requires that you spend at least 30% of the build time assisting the build effort.
  • 14 ranks: You get a +10 bonus to all profit checks made within the empire.
  • 19 ranks: Your guild/organization goes planar, your number of followers swell to the size of an army and their ranks start filling up with producers and managers from other planes of existence. You command three times as many economic cohorts and ten times as many economic followers of each level.{{#set:Type=Leadership}}{{#set:Type=Skill}}{{#set:Prerequisite=None}}
