To use this variant class feature, you must be a ranger with the Beast Mastery class feature. You can choose a bat as your beast companion.

Bat Companion

Bats of all sizes and varieties fall into this category. They are well-rounded companions that don't excel in any one area, but don't have any clear weaknesses, either. They are favored by natives of the Underdark and those with nocturnal habits.

Bat Statistics
Level 1+
Small
HP 12 + 6 per level; Bloodied 6 + 3 per level
AC 14 + level; Fortitude 12 + level, Reflex 12 + level, Will 12 + level
Speed 2 squares, fly 7 squares (hover)
Melee Basic Attack
Bite; level + 4 vs. AC; 1d6 + Strength modifier.
Darkvision
A bat has darkvision, in addition to the low-light vision that all beast companions have.
Alignment Same as you Languages
Skills Perception, Stealth
